Render

I haven’t had much opportunity to render anything for work in quite sometime, and  have been feeling like I have been getting behind in my rendering skill level lately. That in mind I decided to to a rendering just for fun and try a few new thing like maxwell’s grass plug-in and, digital film tools ray v1.2 (thanks for the suggestion pat). The scene isn’t of any place in particular, just an imaginary park looking out over the ocean (gave me an excuse to try rendering water for the first time). Let me know what you think.

  1. i envy your supreme skills. except that your horizon is hidden by the handrail. doh! the light rays add much to this scene. I would do a tiny bit of hue shift in photoshop as well, but that’s just personal preference. well done.

  2. clearly you are not lagging behind in the rendering dept. I think this turned out really nice. The travertine looks convincing, and I think the stool design is nice. (you should build one for real, seem simple). I also think with the extra lighting effects, the trees look good. Also your mulch looks great! I struggle with getting a good mulch.
I would like to see this scene rendered with the sun setting over the horizon. I think the reflection off of the water would look great. Also, I am distracted by the railing, and how it basically aligns with the horizon line, Perhaps just a bit of lowering the railing, or raising the eye level will solve that.
    Nice work.

  3. Nice work this looks great. When will you build the stool? I would be curious to see your model and how you built some of these things. Was it very model intensive or were you exploring Maxwell/photoshop more?
