Nakashima Bed

Billigns, MT Architecture

My coworker Nick and myself, built a children’s be for charity, and our office paid for all the materials. The charity is called dream beds, people build and donate children’s beds which then get raffled off and the proceeds go to help needy children. We decided to base the design of the bed on George Nakashima’s beds. Building the bed was a fun experience, and I got to learn a bit about hand tools from Nick. The only downside of the project is that it didn’t raise much money. If you want to see more of Nick’s wood working check this link out . Pare Furniture + Design
