RTJ4D

I recently entered Sketchfab’s RTJ4D competition https://sketchfab.com/blogs/RTJ4D/ . The prompt was to start with a model provide by RTJ and remix it. winner would get random stuff like RTJ Merchandise. I didn’t win, but I was introduced to Sketchfab through the competition. Sketchfab lets you upload 3d models directly to their website and you can do some light rendering and then send people links that allows them to navigate your model online and download it if they want. I have used it a couple times for work now and it is very handy. Sketchfab works great with sketchup and overall is just another good way to get clients useful inofmation. Below are links to a couple sketchfab models. and I have also add some still renderings I exported from Sketchfab as well as a video I exported from lumion.

My Concept for my entry was entitled “Golden Cages” I used similar voronoi grasshopper modeling as I did in the hill project to remix the models I was given into ….golden cages . One hand/ cage is full of burning money, the other if full of people…. Read into it whatever you like.

  1. So weird and so good. I like that RTJ puts out stuff like this. What a fun way to use the skills you have (architecture) and apply them to something so different. It really goes to show that architects have a really diverse skill set. This turned out really fun, as I’m sure it was fun to make.
